The homes will all be available for rent only, there will be no properties for sale. We have not yet confirmed what type of occupancy each home will have, this will be impacted by the results of the financial modelling later this year.
One of our key aims is to provide better quality, super efficient housing for those who fall between social housing and market rate housing. So we expect to be able to offer homes for a range of tenancies including Intermediate rent, Affordable rent, Social rent and possibly also Market rent as well. There will be a priority given to people with a local connection. There will be a mix of flats for single people and couples, and 2 and 3 bed homes for families. There will also be several accessible homes on the site.
So far we have not confirmed how the properties will be made available. One option is that SDCE would partner with a housing association, another is that we register as a provider and set up as new SDCE non-profit community housing provider.
