We are working with Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE) and PL:21 on the Portworthy Solar Array near Lee Moor.
The 4.3MW array was built on brownfields land associated with the old china clay works. It has been generating since December 2015, and was purchased for the community by BWCE following a successful bond offer to raise £1.68 million. Portworthy Array will generate enough clean electricity for 1300 typical homes.
In November 2015 BWCE launched a 2-yr bond for Portworthy, the offer closed early as it was oversubscribed. If you are interested in investing in a community renewable energy project, hang in there, we plan to hold a share offer for Portworthy in 18 months, after the 2-yr bond expires. Or you could check out Ethex for details of current share offers across the UK.
